James just flew in from Saddleback...
...and boy, are his arms tired!!!
While I was enjoying the vacation hotspot of Evansville, IN, my good friend and co-leader, James McClure, was at the annual Celebrate Recovery Summit on the campus of the Saddleback Church in California.
Mac and Mary Owen shared there tesitomy with our congregation, and they told our group that if any of us went to the Summit, our lives would go through a metamorphasis. And I think they were right. James returned with a fire in his heart to work with others who are struggling with a variety of habits, hurts and hang-ups. So with that renewed vigor he laid the groundwork that solidifies Celebrate Recovery as a safe, Christ centered ministry of the High Pointe Church that reaches out to help those who are drowning.
We had a new friend join us Wednesday night - he's suffering big-time. But he found a group of guys that share his hurt. We also unearthed some struggles that we didn't realize were 'struggles' - and while it can be painfult to admit sin, the freedom that comes from acknowledging the sin and working the steps to erase from our lives is amazing.
We meet every Wednesday night in the Chapel - come join us!
