Prayers for our Evangelistic Bible Studies
Hello Prayer group! Here are some evangelistic Bible studies that are going on or are about to begin that I wanted to ask you to pray for.
1. Margie Thomas - This is our neighbor that we have been studying with. We are nearing the end of the Story of Redemption. Please pray that Margie accepts Christ on in baptism. She has a good heart for serving people, and she has worshipped with us a couple of times. Normally people start worshipping more at this point in the study, which helps people accept Christ because of the love that they find in the Christian community. So, we need a lot of prayers!
2. Tim Karamas - Tim came to us as he began going through a divorce, and he has attended Celebrate Recovery. Tim is really hurting right now, but has made great strides in seeking to follow God and trust in him. James McClure and I have been studying with him, and we are near the end of the Story of Redemption. Please pray that Tim accepts Christ!
3. Alex and Jasmin Dean - Alex and Jasmin are delightful newly weds and a wonderful young couple. I did their pre-marital counseling, and this led into a Bible study. Alex is baptized, while Jasmin has a Catholic background. We had our first study (part 1 in Story of Redemption) a couple of weeks ago, and I heard back that Jasmin really liked it.
4. David Thomas - David and Amy Thomas are a young couple who live in our neighborhood. We invited them to a neighborhood group gathering for High Pointe in the Park, and there I met David for the first time. Amy is a Christian, but David is not. After this, David started worshipping with us, and he has been at High Pointe the last three Sundays. He has been glad that everyone has been nice to him and non-judgmental (I am glad too!). David and Amy have a child who is going to be born with cystic fibrosis, and this has been a struggle. I spoke on the man born blind last week from John 9, and made the point that many times suffering happens without someone having sinned. This seems to have been helpful for them. Please pray that we can continue to bless David and perhaps have a study with him.
5. Mike - "Mike" has come in for help many times from our food pantry and clothes closet ministries. He was released from prison, and has 7 old gunshot wounds. He has struggled with alcohol, and he wants to get his life back on track. We have our first Bible study set up for next Wednesday at 2 PM.
6. Blake Stiles and family - Blake and Claudia Stiles have visited with us for a year, and last Sunday they indicated that they wanted to place membership. They have a daughter age seven that wants to be baptized, and Blake, her father, is open to study. I will be contacting them this week to try to set this up.
There is a lot to pray for, which is wonderful! God is good and is at work.

A bit of an update here. Tim Karamas was baptized into Christ a couple of months ago. Praise God! Margie has been baptized and has started worshipping with her family at High Pointe. Mike dropped out of sight, unfortunately, but we hope that he will be back.
There is anoher young man that I've been studyin with named Will. Please be praying for our study tonight as we study about resurrection and baptism. You can read his story here.
