No, we attend Sylvan Hills (North Little Rock/Sherwood area). We do have an indirect connection to Chuck though - his wife is a sister to our friends the Andersons in OK City. Judy

I just realized you said you knew Chuck from OK. Do you know Steve & Julie Anderson? I went to high school with Steve. I also see that you are in McKinney, TX. We have a daughter at UNT, Denton and a son at UT, Austin. Oh, and do you know Kevin Hackett? He is our youth minister - I think he used to be at High Pointe. Small world!
  • Jeff Spry

James - It was good to learn of this effective networking tool. We did come off the ministerial staff at PV at the end of the year and we have launched City Connections, Inc. If you are interested, I'd love for you to post some of our introductory materials on this site.
  • Teresa Riley

Hope you get to feeling better...........Take it easy if you can.
  • Amy Sievert

I really enjoy working at the clothes closet. :-) Dalana does such an awesome job! We had so many clothes that we had to give a lot to Medina this time. What a blessing!! I know so many are struggling right now with the economy but they still look to help others. It is great to see the good side of people. :-)
  • Teresa Riley

Well that is something you can't miss................
  • Greg Ziegler

James, I just sent you an email. Write back, or just give a call, when you have time. Thanks dude.
  • Wilmer Christopher Rivera

Hi James. I was just wondering, if you want to invite somebody that's already on this network, but you don't know their email, is there another way to invite them to one of your groups?
  • gerardo

Hey Jared! No I have not made much progress yet. I'm still working on my extra reading for the 12 units. I have some ideas in my mind for the paper and some of the main topics for the different chapters, but I still have to sit down and start writing. How about you?
  • Ryan Lloyd

thanks for the welcome! thats very cool. ive never been in an online community like this so its new. i kinda like it though. your post and friendship is much appreciated.
  • Teresa Riley

Hope you get well soon...........Easy day at the office...It looks to be a good week.
  • Rebecca Hope

I haven't received my invitation to FPU yet. I'm not sure why.
  • Rebecca Hope

I thought it looked very nice! The blues and greens along with the MON, all together looked great. Nice!
  • Ryan Lloyd

My interest in outreach and mission is the great commission and wherever it is that God leads me to serve during the course of a day. I currently serve as an associate minister in the Manchester, NH church of Christ. My heart just wants to seek and save the lost and share the light that I have found. For 9 years I was everything from an iv addict to a pothead. I know what it is to live in the darkness and I know what its like to live in the light...now I dont know how to stop telling people about it =) I'm about setting people free. I'm not real sure what God has in store for me but I do Biblical counseling one day a week, read as much as possible, serve as a youth and family minister and live out of coffee shops and the downtown area so I can meet and have access to people. Starbucks is my office most of the time. This is pretty much my life and God just started using me in it so I have a lot to learn and am seeking guidance and friendship. So what about you? Whats your interest in outreach and mission?
  • Ryan Lloyd

im a sucker for friendship and community and i love this site! thanks for creating it! i joined up with the coffee community to start with and left a post there. i look forward to exploring more on here and meeting people. so whats the lets start talking thing about? is it still in motion? i currently work with the teens here in manch so im always looking for ways to plug them in on a deeper level and keep myself charged as well
  • rick

Thanks for the welcome. Like several others, i've never been on a site like this. I will have to think of how to put my outreach and mission into words. I will be praying about this over the next few days.
  • Sandy Nelson

Thanks. James! I am just learning about this facebook/Missional Outreach Site and I LOVE IT! However, I feel like I have opened a can of worms! Everytime I learn one thing, ten more jump up that I need to learn! I am a bit overwhelmed but coming along! I will think about the tech group and let you know. i am afraid I won't be much help but I'd enjoy knowing what is going on...is that enough to join?
    Thanks!
    Sandy

The best way to describe House2Harvest is by letting them describe themselves.

    Glad to be here!
  • Keith Lape

James, thank you for your warm welcome. I am a servant with an inner city mission church, River City Church, in North Little Rock, AR. Looking forward to connecting with missional minded folks. My amount of correspondence will likely be little. And I may be slow on the draw when it comes to responses. I'm a slow reader and writer, but will try to keep up as best I can. Have recently joined Facebook. I'm not hardly keeping
up with it. Grace & peace....
  • Phil McCollum

James, it's nice to meet you. Thank you for welcoming me. I'm passionate about seeing the nations God is bringing to North America discover the joys of a life surrendered to Jesus the King, and equipping them to reach their own cultures better than I ever could to catalyze a church planting movement. My family and friends and I are missionaries among urban poor immigrants in Los Angeles and we LOVE it. We love God's precious "missing ones" in the city. We live in East Hollywood, arguably the most densely populated and diverse neighborhood of LA in terms of its many religions, worldviews, cultures, ethnicities and languages. We're learning to cross multiple cultures in a single day. Also learning to plant the gospel as a way of life - as lay missionaries with regular jobs. I am interested in planting the Gospel in ways that don't create dependency on ourselves, and doing missions from the platform of a regular job (as a self-supporting missionary).
  • Hobby Chapin

James, I have not received them yet. Did you receive my online payment? I am looking forward to them. I will looking forward to some dialogue with you occasionally as we experience them. Hobby
  • Tony Whittaker

Hey, thanks for the welcome. I saw the network banner on a missional blog I looked at today, can't just remember which, I am on my home computer now.

My particular interest is web ministry, and am the coordinator for InternetEvangelismDay.com
I very much see that missional insights are the way forward in the west - Christendom is over, as Hirsch says, and I try to develop these thoughts in the IE Day resources, and our new blog.

In UK, the church attendance graph has been going down for years. You wonder what the world recession will bring!

    Blessings

    Tony
  • Keith Lape

James---------Yes, I know Chuck. Good brother. I am supported by PVCC as one of their missionaries......
  • Zack Blaisdell

Hi James! Yes, my parents are super nice people! I love and miss them dearly. I hope and pray to get to meet you in person one of these days. I need to come visit y'all at HPCC some time during Spring Break or Summer. I'll be home in Plano during those days. Keep up the good work! Oh, how is that book (Re Jesus) going? God bless. Grace and Peace.
  • Amy Sievert

I had not heard that yet. Thank you for updating me. :-) I will not be able to help this week.(Book Fair at Mckenzie's school) But I should next week.
  • Wilmer Christopher Rivera

Hi James. Yes, Spring Break for me is March 16th-20th. So far I need to make room in my work schedule for that, but I believe that I will be able to come back. That would be great if we can meet, and I enjoy this network and think it's a great place to become missional!
  • Teresa Riley

Will this Thursday at 10:00 work?
  • Rod Forbess

Hi James, Things are going well here in Chillicothe. How does it feel to be back in Texas? I know it must be warmer. I look forward to exploring The Missional Network when I find some time. Hasta luego, Rod
  • Dorris (Dottie) Schulz

My main interest is missionary care, but my reading right now is Christopher Wright, N.T. Wright, Scot McNight, Eugene Peterson and I love the blogs by John Mark Hicks, Bobby Valentine, Ben Witherington. I also receive the blog Koinonia and In the Story Line. I am interested in the external church - doing good in the neighborhood. Things at RHCC are super - attendance up; contribution up; interest in external focus up; and conversions up. Blessings on you James!!!
  • Rod Forbess

Thanks for the compliment on the picture. The children are my two grandkids that live in Cochabamba, Bolivia. This picture was taken in December. Darlene and I were able to spend the holidays in Bolvia with Jeff, Katie and the kids. The work in Cochabamba continues to go well.
  • Dorris (Dottie) Schulz

Thanks for the blog link. I read Frost & Hirsch book and Frost's book, Exiles. Blessings..
  • Jon Reed

    Hello,

A friend sent me the site. I'm a minister in El Segundo and interested in missional outreach. Currently doing a D. Min. and comparing missional outreach to the church growth movement and blending approaches as part of an action research project at the church I pastor. Blessings. JR
  • Jon Reed

I see you are a minister in the Church of Christ. Great to hear. I'm the minister at the Hilltop Church of Christ in El Segundo and doing my Doctorate at Harding Grad School. I have many friends that have graduated from Fuller. Do you know Andy Wall at Conejo CofC? George Little sent me the site.
  • Mary Baggett

Yes, James, we are looking forward to serving on a mission trip this summer. Roy and I are both excited about it.
  • David Nelson

Thanks for the invitation to join. We were so thrilled to have your folks here with us. They were a great blessing to us, the SPBC and the congregation. Mary and I will be back in Texas in May and have an invitation from your folks to come out to their house. We will be arranging the details soon. I would love to visit with you as well to pick your brain and to talk about things. The Bible College is going well but we are feeling the effects of the global financial crisis. Looking to see you in May and catching us. God bless you.
  • Zack Blaisdell

Hello James! How's it going? Sorry I haven't commented on here in a while. I wanted to ask your opinion on the book The Forgotten Ways. What do you think of it? I just bought it just now from amazon. Looking forward to reading it! God bless you, your family, and the work y'all are involved in. Grace and Peace.
  • Zack Blaisdell

Cool! I'm looking forward to getting it and reading it. Oh, I'll be home for Spring Break between March 13 through the 20th. I asked my parents if we could come by and visit High Point at some point during that week. God bless!
  • Dave Ewing

    Hey James.

That's one of my best pictures ever taken! It was also great to see you and your family last weekend. I'm pulling for the Longhorns tomorrow to knock off KU? Do they have it in them?
  • OBED ANTHONY OBEN

Greetings, sorry for the delay in responding to your comment. Things are fine in Cameroon. I am engaged in reaching out to lost souls and working with some under priveledge people and HIV/AIDS patients. I am a minister of the gospel and try to organise seminars for church growth and christian growth.
My interest in mission outreach is to reach as many as possible with the gospel/mission of christ and help whereever God sends.
  • Ryan Parsons

    Hey James!
Thanks! The studies are going great. This week is spring break and I am enjoying time with my family.

    Church Blog Theory
is going well. I have been doing a lot of research and reading. The project is expanding and I am excited about all the possibilities and potential for the church.
    Blessings brother!
    Obligated to Him,

Hi James. I have not met Kara but would be glad for the help. I work every other Saturday so could use someone to cover the Saturdays I work. I don't have any idea how many are coming tomorrow. I found out many of the women already have a Church home & are involved in Sunday morning activites they are already committed to. I am hoping this young man Johnny will come. He has expressed interest in studying the Bible. I think I told you about him-he is having a rough time right now trying to find a job & a place to live. He is looking for a room to rent. If you run into anyone tomorrow at Church that is new or would like to share a meal with us feel free to ask them to join us. Looking forward to it!
  • Teresa Riley

Hey have you thought about taping your trainig session on Wed. Night?
  • Jeffery Forbess

James, Thanks for asking about the work here in Bolivia. It is going well. We have been here since 2006 and the work officialy began in Jan. of 2007 after a year of language and culture study. There are about 40 members not including the mission team and more meet with us regularly for services and other activities. I am confident that the Lord is waging battle in this city and Satan does a fair job of fighting those efforts through any means possible, but we rejoice in the fact that our Lord is mighty and faithful and are blessed to be "fightin' on the Lord's side" as the song goes. We have a blog that we update about once a month if you are interested at highlanderhighlights.blogspot.com Thanks again for your interest.

Thank you so much for the invitatiion. I enjoyed my stay in here this morning.
Odessa is a little cold tonight. Hopefully this will be the last of the cold weather. Now all we need is a little rain. It is so dry here. What congregation do your family attend in Midland?
    Good to hear from you
  • KOTA SAMUEL RAVINDRA NATH

Thank you so much for your interest in brotherhood. It takes some more time to be instrumental with you all. Since I have to get more acquaintance with the PC than I can join with all of our brethern.

Brother, would you please let me know about the where abouts of our late brother Hugo Mc Cords children Charles and Carolyn? Bro.Mc Cord is my spiritual mentor, he used to send me appreciation letters for my articles and for my work in the past. Now we have started a school in his name CARL HUGO MC CORDS SCHOOL OF EVANGELISM AND BIBLICAL STUDIES. We are regularly conducting exams on certain topics like MINOR PROPHETS, and for this years is on EPISTLES of St.Paul. And we have also conducted the 4th annual Lectureship on SO GREAT SALVATION theme on March 2-4th 2009. We have a great desire of informing them the things going on here in India on their fathers name for the glory of the Lords Bride. Hope you will comply with our request and do the needful.
