Feel free to join a group or discussion (see "Groups" in menu bar) or invite a friend (see "invite" tab). It's great to have you aboard!
Hi Hobby. I got your message on Facebook. It's great to meet you! Yes, Gailyn and I are friends. My wife and I have considered church planting in the past. While we are involved in another work right now, we are definitely supportive of church planting. We love and appreciate church planters like you. I hope to be able to meet you, maybe the next time we go up to Colorado.
I'm glad you joined the Missional Outreach Network. I'll look forward to hearing your thoughts and hearing about your work.
Hobby, Hirsch is just an outstanding thinker and missional leader. I had him for a two week class at Fuller in my D.Min. program. We went through an advanced copy of The Forgotten Ways, his sequel to The Shaping of Things to Come. It was incredibly rich.
I liked Exiles too, particularly the first half of the book. We have used his "BELLS" missional lifestyles. He is a phenomenal storyteller.
Hi Hobby. Good to have you in the Postmodernism group. Are you very conversant with the emerging church? We are having some interesting discussions on this this week at Fuller.
Hi Hobby. Count me in for sharing with you guys at the Strategy Lab. The 3rd would work better for me if that works for you guys.
I probably was in a short course at HUGSR five years ago. I got my M.Div. from there and finished it up about 5 years ago. Which course were you thinking of?
I really had a lot of first hand conversations with a lot of cutting edge leaders on culture, emerging church, ministry, etc., this week. I'll share some of this in my blog. Chat with you soon!
Hobby, yes I was in Gary Holloway's restoration class. It is kind of hard to see your face in your picture, but it sounds like we were in the same class. It is a small world!
I'll send Gailyn a message today before I fly back. Also, you might be checking on my blog today and I will give a bit of a summary of all the key people who talked with us in our class and direction that they see things are going.
Hi Hobby. I enjoyed getting together with you and the rest of the group at the Mission Alive strategy lab. Let's continue to stay in contact and share with one another how God is at work amongst us.
If there is any way that I can help you, please let me know.
Hey Hobby. I see that you are friends with Bryce. Thanks for inviting him in.
Hobby, I hope to talk with you soon about helping connect all of the Mission Alive church planters (and others as well) on this site, with different planters sharing thoughts and raising questions each week. Think of how many BELLS types of learning that we can discover!
Awesome! I'll look forward to meeting your friends in Denver and other church planters that you know, as well as hearing you share your thoughts on this.
Hobby, you could start a "BELLS/BLESS" discussion in the church planting group and kind of chronicle your plans and journey with this, and invite others to join. Or you could start some other group if you think this would be helpful.
Hey Hobby. Hope you are having a great holidays. There is a post on direct mail that I thought you might find interesting as a church planter. (See front page.)
Hey Hobby. Are you okay? I had not heard from you and wondered if you had something happen. Hope all is well, and I am looking forward to hearing from you soon.
