Hi Chris. Welcome to the Missional Outreach Network!

A couple of intro things. Click on the "Forum" tab in the menu bar above and go to "Introduce Yourself" for instructions on introducing yourself to the missional community, including creating an "about me" page and updating your profile. I see that you already added your picture.

It's great to have you aboard!

Chris, how are you? I saw your video of you singing at night with your kids. Very precious. What are you up to in Portland?
  • James Nored

Chris, I'm trying to remember--do you also speak Spanish?
  • James Nored

No way! That is awesome. I am a huge supporter of church plants and church planters. What will your role be on the team?

Stan Granberg joined here, but he is pretty busy.

Hi Chris. Thanks for identifying me as the author of my blog!

As a church planter, I thought that you might be interested in the post on direct mail that I made (see front page).

Dear Brother Chris Flores, good to see you here. I am an NT church preacher from India. I had a very good spiritul mentor from port land OR ie., Bro. HUGO MC CORD. You know him? He had been passed to a better place now, could you let me know where his children are dwelling now. Charles and his sister Carolyn. We have started a biblical school on his name here. Just I want to inform them this thing. would you please help me in this regard. Hope you will do.

Hola Chris! I am son of Sixto Rivera, minister at Highland Oaks church of Christ who is also a church planter and has a radio program. I got to help out with starting a Hispanic/Latino youth group and a soccer team at this church. I am currently a student at OC. I am passionate about Latino Leadership in the church. I would really love to hear your insight on Latinos and Latino Leadership.

That's fine. In fact, we are looking for people that are more like that! See, the thing is that hispanics now, probably a 50-60% speak mostly English, or English their primary language. When I worked with the youth group at my church, the language they most felt comfortable in was english. Being hispanic means you have some roots from Latin America. Here, we are talking about 2nd and 3rd generation hispanics for the most part, hispanics who have been here all their life, were born here, and who's primary language is english. They're mainstream america, but who's parents are from Latin America.
