Trey, we need someone who understands the missional concept to start a group on this site on making small groups missional, sharing ideas, resources, stories, etc.. Would you like to do this?
Also, I was wondering what you thought of the book, The Connecting Church, and its model of missional small groups.
Trey, I would really recommend starting a group on Missional Small Groups or Missional Group life (whatever you wanted to call it) and placing most of your conversations on this subject there. There are a lot of advantages to this. You can invite people to join this group specifically, send out messages at once to all the group members, add more content, etc. And it will be your group which you can take ownership of.
Just go to the groups page and click "add a new group." Just throw up any picture for the group to get started. Any picture will do to get it started--you or I can change it later to a small group picture if you don't have one.
Thanks! Looking forward to your group, insights, and discussions.
Trey, I was surprised to hear from you today. I didn't know about this resource. Thanks for the invite. Sorry about the formal picture. It's all I have on file.
Trey,
I feel like Moses at times "I'm not the guy". I look forward to learning from all of those who comment and from you and James on small groups or missional groups. Yesterday I listened to a talk by Louie Giglio titled "Grace Works" found at www.268generation.com. Louie was talking about grace and works-with the overriding thought being "do something"-I search daily for what my "something" is. I appreciate James and High Pointe for their "doing something" attitude. I have a lot to learn-thanks for the help.
Trey, I sent out an invitation to my "friends" on this network about your new group. This should generate some participants. Of course, the personal invitations are always the best and most effective. This should be a great group and discussion!
Trey, I have seen the membership adds. Thanks for sending out the invitations! It will be great to see this develop and for us to learn from and encourage one another.
Colder... if that's possible. We're looking at the coldest weather in the recent past up here this week. Lows around -3 to -5 and highs in between 5-10 degrees. You already know about the economy up here! The whole world knows.
Hello! I'll have to think about your question before I respond! You said that your wife spent a summer here in Caracas? What is her name? Was she here working with the church? It depends when she was here, but most likely Caracas is more dangerous now then it was then! :D- I'll make sure to get back to you soon! God bless!
Trey, we are looking forward to working with you and learning from you this weekend at Riverside. We are making some significant steps in missional renewal.
Hey brother Trey!
Glad to meet you here!
How are you doing? I hope am not mistaken to think that you are the Mr. T. Finley that I got his mailbox address from the Christian Chronicle newspaper and wrote to concerning Harding University...
Hope to hear from you soon.
Kind regards and much blessings,
Samuel.
Trey, we'll be interested to hear how the class progresses. I'll also do more to encourage interaction here.
Check out the new Zorap application (see tabs at top). I'm testing it out. This can allows us to do webinars, video chat, video conferencing. We could have you do a small groups webinar, get your group online to discuss and interact with the larger MON community. I'll help with this in any way that I can.
Hi Trey. Yes, I'm pretty excited about the Zorap application. MON will be hosting a "How to Use Twitter to Reach the Unchurched" webinar late this month from @MarketerMikeE. We'll use either Zorap or Ustream. I'll let you know about this. We can also have a testing out session before then.
Would you like to do a webinar for MON--maybe a 30-45 minute session to start with on small groups? I would help promote it on MON, Facebook, and Twitter.
We are really starting to see some exciting possibilities here! Thanks for being a part of this in a very significant way.
