Above is a picture of Cesar Lopez, his wife Bernice, and Linda Hardin, who works in our food pantry ministry. Cesar came in a few months ago needing food. He paints and does other home building type of work, but he has not been able to find enough work in the down economy.
When Cesar came to us for food, you could tell that he did not to have to ask for this. However, we tried to treat him with love and kindness, and we prayed for him.
Soon he was signed up to do FriendSpeak to help him with his English by practicing readings from the gospel of Luke. Many of these types of ministries--such as food ministries, clothing ministries, Celebrate Recovery, Habitat for Humanity, and FriendSpeak all can potentially build on one another to reach the same people.
While serving is always good, conversions usually happen from multiple acts of kindness in the context of a relationship. By sharing food, English skills, and more, we hope to invite Cesar to accept Christ as his Savior.
A big thanks to Linda and all those in the food pantry ministry, and to Dan Rodriquez, who is helping Cesar with FriendSpea

How do you think that these types of ministries can better work together to impact people?
