It’s hard to believe it, but we have already started the second week of our project here in Santiago. Our week got off to an awesome start because Graciela, one of Claudia’s readers, attended church on Sunday! We have also been blessed with 6 new readers this week. Here are some quotes and highlights from our most recent reading sessions:

• Pamela, one of my readers, shared with me how the youth group here in Provedencia has helped her oldest child, Javiera. After the death of her grandfather, Javiera was very upset and had a lot of doubts about God. Then Karla Valle, one of the teenagers here, invited her to youth group. Javiera has since found comfort in this fellowship and through studying the Bible. She is about to travel to England for three weeks as a foreign exchange student. I look forward to meeting Javiera before her departure as she will be at our party tomorrow night.
• Carola, one of Shevin’s readers, told Shevin that she enjoys their sessions because Shevin “associates the Bible with real life.” We are working on getting her a copy of the Bible in Spanish so that she can continue to read and grow in God’s Word.
• Luis Urra initially came to his reading sessions with Claudia with a lot of doubts and suspicions. However, Claudia has noticed that he has been asking more questions about the lessons and seems to be genuinely re-examining these doubts. We have been praying that Luis and others will remain receptive and open to the Message. As Claudia put it, “He knows he has a need.”

We continue to be almost overwhelmed by the hospitality of the Chilean people. Several readers and local missionaries have invited us into their homes. We hope to fulfill as many of these requests as we are able in our brief time here.

Our whole team would also like to thank those of you who have been lifting up little Lucas Soto in prayer. Lucas has been steadily improving, and has recently begun to take in small amounts of his mother’s milk! Please continue to pray that he will be able to come home from the hospital soon.

Thank you for your continued support and prayers! I hope to share more updates very soon!

Courtney, thank you for sharing this! That is great that one of your readers worshipped with you on Sunday. And it sounds like your team is really helping some readers in their faith struggles with God. That is amazing to have conversations like this in such a short time.

Your readers do indeed have a need, and it is great that they are recognizing it. And you and your team are being used by God to do this!

We will continue to keep you and your readers, including little Lucas Soto, in our prayers. We will look forward to the next update!
