Summer Preaching

Anyone doing some planning for your Summer preaching yet? Given the shifting nature of attendees during the in-flux summer months ... what are your plans?We are studying the Christian Graces this year at Forsythe. I believe I'm going to focus on the "self control" portion and talk about some of the moral danger areas where we need self control. Have been looking at Snares of the Devil by Charles Stanley and When The Tempter Strikes by Irwin Lutzer as possible resources. I am not in my office and may have those titles / authors reversed or otherwise messed up.Love to hear your plans for your summer pulpit.

During the summer I always choose a theme, but I don't do sequential messages. I try to avoid a series where you kinda have to be there for part one in order to get part four -- b/c people are in and out. I try to make sure each message is loosely linked to the theme but is able to stand on its own. This summer I'm thinking about doing something on the hard sayings of Jesus or maybe just topical stuff Jesus said. What did Jesus say about (fill-in-the-blank)?
