I firmly believe in the power of prayer to change hearts. And yet, so many times, we discount this power. If a minister presents an outreach "plan" based upon prayer, a church is likely to say or think, "Yeah, yeah. But what are you really going to do?"

I'm all for working hard for the Lord, and yet, often, there are hearts that only God can change. The book of Acts tells us that God changed Lydia's heart. At the previous church we were at, we had a night in which we collected names of family, friends, neighbors and co-workers of our members who did not know the Lord. We took these names up and prayed for them that night by name. i am convinced that this helped reach many of our converts.

So, who do know who is lost or seeking that we can be praying for? What outreach ministries can we be praying for

The name of a person gives me an identity whom I realize needs Jesus. Gerneralities may work (because I believe God hears all our prayers), but I like the idea of if real person's name to place before God.
Absolutely, Leatrice. Praying by name really makes prayer for the lost a reality and makes this ministry come alive.
Hi guys. I started studying last week with Bradley, a man who came to our church without a home. He had been living in his car, and one of our members took him in. Our first study went well. He has gone through many difficult times. You can follow our study in the Evangelistic Bible Study group. Thank you!

Manny and his wife (Shelle?) came to our Sunday evening services this last week. They are a couple in their mid 40's? who have been married about 5 months. I believe they both have grown children from previous marriages...but I don't have all those details. Shelle has a background in the church, hence that is why they chose to visit our church. Manny has never come to know Christ in his life (he's not been baptized), but yet he seemed very content to be with his wife and he seemed comfortable with her at church. I've been thinking about Manny this past week and I hope they come back for a visit. I don't know where they live or anything. It's in God's hands. Manny is hispanic and his wife is not, so I'm not sure exactly where he's at culturally.
Please pray for Melanie that she will be allowed to return to the residential facility she was in previously & that she will not have to stay in jail for 2 years.

Please pray for Kay Tackett this week as she goes to court this Friday on falsied charges. Pray for strength & healing for her as her ex husband is turning her children against her with lies & has filed false chargers against her that could put her in jail. She needs people to go with her to court this Fridat at 2:30 to face these charges as she cannot afford an attorney.

The minister at our congregation is counceling with a young couple who visited on Tuesday night, youth night. He and his friend have two children together and neither is a member of the church and they are not legally married. They heard about our youth night and brought their son to participate in the class. The minister talked with the young man after the class and he seemed interested in the church; so, he set up a councelling session with them, after Bible class on Wednesday night. They did come. Please pray for the minister, Gene Collins and for Tag Collins and his friend. I am sorry, I have forgotten her name. I, too, believe in calling the person's name. God bless
Jennie, this group is very good about praying for people, and I'm sure will take up the call to pray for this young couple. I know that good can come out of this counseling. I have a Bible study set up with a young couple for whom I did some pre-martial counseling recently. Thank you for sharing.
Mary, I have prayed for your nephew, his wife, and their marriage. I know that military families have special stresses and challenges. May God watch over them and draw them together.
