Working as a Team
Working as a team is always better than going it alone. Jose and Guadalupe Ayala moved from California to Dallas, along with their children, 6 weeks ago. They arrived with practically nothing. They rented an apartment, but in the living room there is little more than a rocking chair for the baby. The only furniture that you will see in the kitchen is a small round table and 4 chairs. However, when you chat with Jose, you are enlivened. He is positive, and his faith in God is strong even though his knowledge of the Holy Scriptures is limited.
The Ayala family were helped by Caring and Sharing. There they received information about the Iglesia de Cristo en Highland Oaks. For the last four weeks, they haven’t visited our services. Upon pursuing them a little further, I found that they are “sons of peace”. They are people in search of a relationship with God. Consequently, this past Friday, July 16th, Jose was born again.
Working as a team brings new souls to Christ. Caring and Sharing is working to help meet their needs, and I was given the role of pursuing these “sons of peace” to give them the love that Christ has for them. Today, we have among us a new family, thanks to God who brought them to us and to the work of the Caring & Sharing team.

The Church of Christ in Grand Prairie continues to grow. Yolanda Mendoza was the co-leader of a house group who was baptized this past week. Yes, you read that correctly—she has been the co-leader of a house group even when she wasn’t born again. In the house groups we try to be as inclusive as possible. This is something new for brother Juan C. Bautista, but there is much joy in seeing better results when one is inclusive.

Sixto, thank you so much for sharing this. You are helping us all understand how God can work powerfully through "sons of peace." As you indicate, many times people can help reach others with the gospel, even before they have fully responded. We are seeing that here as well.

We praise God at this baptism!
