Hi Becki. Yes, we really should keep in touch on these trips. We could have stayed through Sunday in that case. It has been our tradition with the Micheners to camp in the refuge sometime in October, but considering the 30-something weather at night we simply made a day trek with lunch and a campfire out there. The girls were sleep deprived and sugared up, but they had a blast. Nadia insisted she "climb every mountain" by herself.
As far as this week, it was a rough start, but we've had a beautiful warm, fall day today that we girls spent at lake Overholser with friends. It's not NZ with kiwi farms, the ocean, and mountains, but it has its own quiet beauty.
