Last night I got this message from a contact form on our website:
"I've recently moved to McKinney and I'm looking for a new church home and would like to visit this Sunday if possible. I didn't know if notice was necessary? Any info would be helpful. Please feel free to email or give me a call at _______. I'm very excited!!
Thanks so much! --Shelby"
It was a joy to hear about this young woman wanting to visit us for worship. I emailed her and called her to assure her that we would love to have her come. It is amazing to me, however, that a visitor might wonder if they needed to give us notice. What kind of messages have churches been giving off to people that they might think that they would not automatically be welcome?
How can we let people know that they are welcome to visit our churches? What fears do visitors have?
