Could Christian blogging really make a difference?

Is it possible for the church to change the face of the internet?

Is it possible to use technology to develop relationships that lead to opportunities to share the love of Christ?

Why isn't the church doing more?

Could the answer be blogging?

These are just a few of the questions I have been asking. What questions do you have? What answers might you share?

I have been developing a project/theory to use blogging to:
1. Inundate the internet with God's truth.
2. Start conversations with people who are seeking Jesus Christ.

I would love for you to check it out. Church Blog Theory

Thanks James. I enjoy Internet Evangelism Day's website. It has given me a lot of good info. I'll begin taking a look at this list and let you know what I find.

Bob, thanks for you comments. Do you have a blog? I keep a blog about spiritual reflections and write there a few times a month. Last week I through the blog was able to connect with a family member who left the church almost 20 years ago. I would be interested to hear your evaluation of it. It is called Looking Further

Blogs can help get the word out--not too in your face, and with wide variety to appeal to a lot of different readers. The blog one will read is the one another will not--for exactly the same reasons.
This week someone emailed me to say "you can tell a lot about a church by looking at their website". Ditto, blogs. You can tell a lot of about a blog/blogger by looking/reading. Faith sharing takes a lot of different forms.

Ryan, here is a site with links to recommended blogs for outreach and evangelism. It would be great if you checked these out for us and let us know which ones you found most helpful.

James, thanks for your interest in CBT.

The list of blogs was interesting to say the least. Most of the sites were very clean and very pro. There are several good ideas here and some interesting reading.
However, I think most people considering entering the arena of blogging with the intent of sharing their faith would give up after looking at a couple of these. They are too daunting. My hope is that people will begin a simple faith based blog, integrate it with their life and their online social networking to reach the people closest to them. To me it just makes more sense mathematically, relationally and most important...eternally. Rather than have a top blog, I would rather see 50 more Christians sign up and begin blogging with a missional purpose.
What do you think?
Thanks for the link. I'll definitely do some more scouring to see what ideas and info I can glean.
Obligated to Him,
Ryan Parsons

Ryan, as you know, I am interested in your project and research! I just received a Twitter post from Ed Stetzer, highlighting a site that gives the top 50 Christian blogs. What do think of these blogs?
