Haiti Disaster Relief Effort - From Missions Resource Network

Below is a note from our friends over at Missions Resource Network on the Haiti Relief Effort. If you have any other information on how to help in these efforts, or wish to comment on the disaster, please do so below.

--------------------------

Dear Friends,

You have undoubtedly heard many reports these last 48 hours about the terrible 7.0 magnitude earthquake devastating Haiti on January 12th. The destruction caused by this quake is the worst disaster to hit Haiti in 200 years. We have received many phone calls here at Missions Resource Network from Christians wanting to know how and to whom they can give in response to the needs of the Haitian people. We have compiled a list of churches and para-church organizations that are directly aiding the Haitian people with food, water, shelter, and emergency aid. Some of these groups are also sending emergency response teams from America to provide aid firsthand. We hope this list is a helpful resource to you and your church family as you consider how best to respond with Christ's love for those hurting in Haiti.

Join us in heartfelt prayer for the people of Haiti right now and for all those families who have lost loved ones and who are enduring injury, homelessness, hunger or other traumas. We pray God will be gracious in aiding the Christians, the government, the local officials and all those affected by this tragedy.

In Prayer and Hope,

The Missions Resource Network Staff

Carolyn, I said a prayer just now for Ben Adkins, David Heath, and all of the people, missionaries, and relief workers in Haiti. Please keep us informed through your network of the relief efforts over there, as well as how we can help. Thank you!

Today, please pray for Ben Adkins, WFR Relief Ministries/World Radio Team Leader, West Monroe, Louisiana. and David Heath of Parker, Colorado. Today, they fly to Florida and then tomorrow on to Haiti to connect with the World Radio Speakers in Haiti and Dominican Republic in order to set up a command center for distributing water, food and shelter in Haiti. (The Domincan Republic World Radio Speakers have been collecting supplies and plan to meet them in Haiti to help those in need.)
thanks for all your prayers,
