A good beginning point would be to seek a biblical definition of disciple, one like the master/teacher, a learner, discipling involves discipline/teaching. I fear too many Christ-followers are not disciples, not learning, not growing, not re-imaging to be like Jesus.
I have been thinking about what God wants from his human creation, and have blogged about it a bit. My simple short list right now includes recognition, respect, response, relationships, and reflection. See some of these thoughts at my blog, bobyoungresources.com, especially during summer 2008, but check out all of the evangelism category.
I hope the emphasis of this group will be on "missionally". We attract a lot of people, but few US churches are doing much disciple-making among the genuinely unchurched, and it seems that is the imperative. Otherwise, we just keep trading members in a church marketing Ponzi scheme.
