All of my life I have heard the topic of smoking, dipping, and wreckless driving as social sins that were accpetable to address and judge at youth devos, bible classes, and in sermons.

Overweight, and overindulgent living (in regards to food) has been excused (winked at, or overlooked)for so long as we heart attack, blood pressure, and high cholesterol ourselves out of a quality life for our family and friends. How much strain is placed on the healthcare industry, our employers, and our families due to negligent living by Christians?

Those that smoked, dipped, drove wrecklessly, and gorged on piles of toxic foods did not always appreciate their "vices" being pointed out that way. Some felt that 'the pulpit' was not the place to bring up those things. Or, they may have been content to admit their 'weaknesses', and keep doing what they did without an overwhelming sense of guilt.

Now the smokers, dippers, wreckless drivers, and gluttons are quick to condemn a Politician's record on not protecting human life. It is considered an outrage that our country could ever vote for such a person.

Maybe this is an example why the world does not always listen to us. Maybe the standard for judging a politician needs to be used in judging ourselves (Matt. 7:1-6). If I want the world to take the message of the Bible seriously about abortion, then maybe I need to take the Bible seriously in my personal choices as well.

I am so ticked at myself lately. I have been eating and drinking (coffee) an insane amount lately instead of stopping and praying. I have allowed gossip and judgment to push me to the fridge and coffee pot instead of getting on my knees and really leaning on God. You see, I can get fired for going and drinking at a bar. But, how many preachers get fired for using food and coffee in unhealthy levels?

I want the world to respect God's standard on everything.

Lord, please help me to do it myself. I have to stop throwing away the precious gift of life that God has given to me. I know some may believe I am extreme, and a radical for believing the way I do. I know some may believe I am comparing apples and oranges. Yet, I cannot get out of my head the fact that God's standard is not an apple one day, and an orange the next. it is the same. I just want to make sure I am not ignoring God's standard for me while I am pointing my finger at others.

Sorry, guys, but I just needed to vent. It has been a stressful month for me all the way around.
