Hello Missional Outreach Network friends . . .

Exciting things are happening!!! A friend felt an "urge" to invite a couple 20-something girls to our family-friendly New Year's eve party, and they not only CAME, but one of these girls came back to church and prayed to give her heart and life to the LORD!!!

We're praying about mission plans for 2011, and looking ahead to upcoming outreaches, to India (starting a brand-new orphanage and national evangelism ministry) and to East Africa (for a city-wide evangelistic outreach).

Here's a few links to share more...

In 2011, our family's mission outreach, Harvest Ministry, is launching a brand-new missions outreach, directed by newlyweds (our son and new daughter) Joshua & Anna Dunagan, called PROJECT INDIA!!! Come take a look . . .

EVANGELISM NEWS:

An upcoming city-wide outreach is planned for February, 2011, in the mountainous area of BUDUDA, in S.E. UGANDA. My husband, Jon, just purchased airline tickets, and Harvest Ministry plans, advertising, and preparations are currently underway.

PLEASE BE PRAYING FOR SOULS!!!

Awesome James! The plight of orphans is really a LOT bigger than most people realize. According to recent reports, there are over 143,000,000 orphan children, which is more people than the entire population of Russia. (if you want to see some startling orphans stats. click here . . . )

God has really stirred in our family's heart the need to remember and truly LOVE orphans -- with care and support. When the plight of the precious kids first began burning on my heart, we didn't have any support, and didn't know HOW we could make a difference. But God's shown us that when He puts His compassion in our hearts for a need, He also will bring the help we need (in wisdom, support, and direction). We began years ago with 30 orphan kids on a remote island in Uganda. Then we began building houses, with 10 kids each. Our first orphanage, in a home-like setting, Osanidde Village (it's a worship word, which sounds just like "Oh Sunny Day!" and it means "You Are Worthy!") quickly grew from 30, to 70, to 100, to 160 kids. Then, a few years later (when we were really realizing how MUCH ongoing work is needed to keep the support going) God brought us a 2nd orphan ministry, Guma Na Yesu Children's Center, and practically dropped it in our laps -- complete with his compassion and faith -- for over 400 more kids at the time, which now has grown to a total of over 700 children in both ministries. I'm thrilled now to see how this new outreach, PROJECT INDIA, is going to grow. Our son and daughter in law are trusting God for the first 10 orphan children, and for all the set-up costs for this first home.

Ann, helping orphans is true religion. This is wonderful that you are starting this orphanage in India. The plight of children in India was really brought out in the movie Slumdog Millionaire. We sponsor children for $25 a month in El Salvador with an orphanage that our church supports.
