I am pumped about this site. I am a Campus Minister in Cincinnati, OH. I am interested in doing anything I can to reach people with the Gospel, so any missions activities rate high with me!

Good morning James. Rather than checking in on my page daily, I will probably be on it 2-3 times a week. I am very busy trying to push for a strong 4th quarter at work. Hope all is well with the Nored family.

Yes, I will be able to go to the Celebrate Recovery training on Saturday, and I am thrilled! The Lord has been leading me toward this ministry for some time, and when my mom told me that you were interested in starting a group there, that was more than enough confirmation for me. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to assist in facilitating this group at High Pointe. I would like to sit down with you some time and go over some questions and ideas that I have. I am about to leave for work now, but I will check my e-mail when I come home. Have a blessed day!

You mean my devos? That's kinda scary! But if you think I should...ok. I'm not real sure how to start a group. You'll have to help me with that.

Hey James. I am not in your father's class, but I know those guys at the school and will definitely try to meet him. We moved to New Zealand 8 months ago to begin planting a church. It is beautiful here, but starting a church is difficult anywhere, especially here in New Zealand. Relationships are easy to make and so that is where we are starting with many people. New Zealand has a lot of people who have been burned by the "Church", so it we spend a lot of time needing to break walls down before we can teach them about Christ. But life is good here and I think the servant attitude of Jesus Christ will overcome.

Interest in mission and outreach? I don't know -- I know that I want to help people come to know God. I'm increasingly convinced that the artificiality of the typical church gathering encourages complacency and discourages authentic Christian living. In the churches of Christ, as a married man without children, I've pretty much peaked at my level of influence (Bible Class teacher) within the local body.

So I'm trying to live more incarnationally, as well as trying to spread my hearing and speaking in other ways. That's why I blog... that's why I'm trying to contribute at The Outpost... that is why I am here.

What am I up to in Frankfort? Well, I recently bailed out of food service after the better part of 15 years. I took all the customer service and personnel management experience I gained there, and have parleyed it into where I am now: the Inter-Library Loan Specialist for the Kentucky State Library. It was a hard decision because I feel like I abandoned a more solidly missional context (as a cook and some-time manager of a restaurant) for worldly stability and finances (I have less personal contact with people in my new job, but I make a little more money and have MUCH better insurance).

I'm reading The Mission of God by Christopher Wright, along with several NT Wright texts. I'm teaching the Wed PM HS class at our local congregation, and I fill in as the teacher of the "Closer Relationship with Jesus Christ" class when the main teacher is absent. I'm on the Spiritual Development Committee at The Frankfort Christian Academy, a multi-denomination private Christian school. I guess that's about it!

What are things like in your world?

I typed the description in the box on the upload site and it doesn't show up under the picture. I know you didn't start this to be a tutor but can you help me?

CMU started in 2005 when a group of campus ministers and evangelists decided to work toward doing something to reach college students in the United States.

Some neat things are happening right now, and we're all excited about what God has in store for the future.

I see you're a Fuller guy - I'm waiting until my current school loans are paid off, then I might go there to get an M. Div. They have a nice NorCal program that'll keep me from having to leave San Francisco. Anyway, we'll see.

James, I'm back in Regina now but was in New Orleans week before last. I served the Carrollton Avenue Church there from 95 to 02. So I know the area quite well and probably know New Orleans better than any city I have ever lived in. Our group worked with the Hollygrove church plant which has some involvement with MissionAlive.

Hiya James :)

I just love telling people about Jesus. Somewhere along the way people started calling that "missional" ... I guess I'm cool with that. :p

I'm so excited about what God is doing right now, I can hardly contain it. We had packed services again - we are studying together a simple series on what we believe while the whole church is going through a 6 week Bible reading - today the message was about the church bringing life to the dead places of the world... fantastic! Our small group almost doubled just this past week and I expect it will grow even more this coming week. I'm teaching our baptism class again this coming Sunday and so I'm already looking forward to helping people find their next step in their journey of faith in Christ.... needless to say I'm having a great time watching God do His thing!!

Yes! I am Michael's brother! I have been a missionary here in Caracas for more than two years. I already have my picture up because I am a part of another network on Ning called Ekklesia. It is a network created for the Spanish-speaking brothers and sisters of the churches of Christ. Now, they are doing their best to make it bilingual, English and Spanish. I've made a lot of great contacts on that network and I hope that will be the case with this one! Thanks! Have a great night!

Hi James. I feel the group went very well & will grow quickly as word gets out. I am told there is not womens' groups like this in Collin County that offer child care. Celebrate recovery does have child care on Friday nights at the Bible Fellowship Church in their Celebrate Recovery Group. They also have a common meal together as well as a speaker. Then they split into small groups for discussion. Melanie was wondering about having the meal & how that would best work. As I said in class this am we were able to provide needed food for a lady who is expecting her 1st child & had no food at home. Another lady shared she needed alot of support from the group as her spouse is an alcoholic & it is a difficult situation. Talk with you soon! Sharon
