This sermon is one which I have had on my heart for some time. It emphasizes that knowing God does not come from more information and mere head knowledge. Information today is free and readily found. Instead of giving out more information, we must provide mentoring and help others to live out their faith, loving and serving others.

Jason, Iwhen I heard my professor say that anything other than writing is a distraction, it really struck me. Probably because I love learning so much that it is easy for me to just keep reading and researching. Fortunately, I have the Achiever strength (from the StrengthsFinder survey) that pushes me forward. But I need deadlines, or I will just keep learning.

It does seem to be a great analogy for what we often do in the church--endlessly learn and prepare, without implementing. Thanks for watching and for the feedback!

I like the analogy that anything beyond actually writing a paper (ie more and more information) is distraction.
