Hi guys. This week I'm preaching on Spiritual Warfare, from Ephesians 6. Any ideas on how to approach this, sermon illustrations, resources, etc.?

Also, how do you see Satan attacking you/us, particularly on a personal level? What weapons does he use? How do we defend against this on a practical level?

Looking forward to your thoughts!

Thank you, Gailyn! I know from your work in Africa, that you have really studied this subject. These are going to be excellent resources for me and others.

On this subject - do you think that Satan chooses to manifest himself more directly in animistic cultures?
Gailyn, I just read your "Cosmic Warfare" document. Great exegesis and comment on Ephesians 6. I particularly like the idea of "standing shoulder to shoulder"--that this stand is by the community; and, that we are not just on the defensive, but are drawing up our own military, Roman wedge of combat against Satan. Excellent.
Certainly, I will do so, Gailyn. Thank you very much for sharing.

We must convert Eph. 6 to practical language for the young person. Movies, books, TV are 3 deadly tools our kids are influenced by. It is hard to find a movie where the bed scene is absent. We are told that children of divorce are prone to be likely to do the same. The big question is what can we put before them to convince them that God's way is the best way? The way I handle it is to pray daily for myself and my family, at every opportunity to show what is right and wrong, and not enable one if he has made the wrong choice. Being a good example is a must. The culture we live in is no friend to our families. But in my little corner, God help me to shed His light where He wants it to shine. Bill Bowman
