Just days ago, a young mother contacted the Church about a need for newborn clothes, blankets, and a car seat. She could have the baby anytime, and was so worried about not having a car seat for the baby! "The hospitals will not let you bring the baby home without a car seat", she told me. She found a few baby items in the Clothes Closet, and was also excited to find clothes for her husband. She explained to me that they live in a section 8 apartment over on highway 5, the rent is only $130, but they are having trouble even paying that. Her husband gets up at 4:30 a.m. daily to try to get work in constuction, but the jobs have been few. She said that they are never able to buy clothes for themselves, and they had no Christmas this year for their 3 year old. I told Linda in the church office, about this young lady's needs, and she immediatly put out an email to the Church. A car seat was found that night, along with plenty of blankets, and newborn clothes! The young lady met me back up at the Clothes Closet today to pick everything up. She looked at the wonderful carseat, the diapers, blankets, baby clothes, and even some nice stuffed toys. She just started crying. Her friend, that drove her, was exclaiming loudly over all the nice things, and gave her a big hug, followed by a big hug from me. I told her "now you don't have to worry anymore!" She could only nod and cry and say "thankyou, thankyou!" This Church never fails to amaze me with great outpourings of love! This young lady was so, so grateful! This is truly an outreach that changes lives!
