Zach, I have read it. It is a insightful book. The book is built around several polarities, beginning in chapter three:

Each of the main chapters are framed by a perception vs. a new perception. I think it would be useful to set those before you at the start:

3. HYPOCRITICAL

PERCEPTION Christians say one thing but live something entirely different.

NEW PERCEPTION Christians are transparent about their flaws and act first, talk second.

4. GET SAVED!

PERCEPTION Christians are insincere and concerned only with converting others.

NEW PERCEPTION Christians cultivate relationships and environments where others can be deeply transformed by God.

5. ANTIHOMOSEXUAL

PERCEPTION Christians show contempt for gays · and lesbians.

NEW PERCEPTION Christians show compassion and love to all people, regardless of their lifestyle.

6. SHELTERED

PERCEPTION Christians are boring, unintelligent, old-fashioned, and out of touch with reality.

NEW PERCEPTION Christians are engaged, informed, and offer sophisticated responses to the issues people face.

7. TOO POLITICAL

PERCEPTION Christians are primarily motivated by a political agenda and promote right-wing politics.

NEW PERCEPTION Christians are characterized by respecting people, thinking biblically, and finding solutions to complex issues.

8. JUDGMENTAL

PERCEPTION Christians are prideful and quick to find faults in others.

NEW PERCEPTION Christians show grace by finding the good in others and seeing their potential to be Christ followers

Hi James! Thank you for all you do for the Kingdom of God!
Have you or anyone else on this site read the book UnChristian by David Kinnaman (however you spell his name)? I just bought it the other day and wanted to see what others thought of the book. I hope everyone out there had a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! It seems to be a book talking about post-moderns and college age young adults. I'm looking forward to reading it. I will post a review of the book on my blog: zackblaisdell.wordpress.com. God bless you all! Grace and Peace.

Hi Zack. We're glad to have you on the site. We definitely need the insights of young leaders like yourself who have a heart for people and are seeking to understand postmodern culture. Feel free to start any discussions you would like in this group or any other.

Hello everyone! My name is Zack. I'm from Plano, TX. First year student at Sunset International Bible Institute. Working with young adults and post-moderns are a passion of mine. Wherever God leads me, I hope to be involved in campus ministry and working with young adults. God bless! Grace and Peace.
