Hello everyone! My name is Zack. From Plano, TX. Currently a first year student at Sunset International Bible Institute. Outreach efforts, evangelism, and getting new converts involved in the life of the church are some major passions of mine. I hope these passions in one way or another wherever God takes me. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. God bless. Grace and Peace.

Hi guys. I'm looking to embed some wikis both in this site and in our church's website. Does anyone know anyone who could help with this, either at your church or at your work? Please let me know!

Greg, that sounds great. I'd love to talk with him if you could set it up.

Anyone else who has contacts too, keep them coming. Thanks!

James, concerning your desire to see if the church could respond using cell phone technology...I have a contact here who used to write code for IBM and Sprint. He has a guy working part-time for him who is a youth minister for one of the Baptist churches in town...Brent Lacy. Brent is web-savvy. Doug (my friend) suggested, when I asked, that you and Brent converse. Let me know if you're interested and I'll make arrangements for communication :) Have a great day!

Notice in the coming months and years how periodicals and newspapers will go digital. It will affect more than books.

Lynn, This is one of the items brought up yesterday. The response is that it would be so easy. We're talking about a map where you mouse over your region and hear the gospel in your native tongue. Exciting!

In reply to Aaron Corcoran,

Though your comment about the low touch problems of technoloy are well founded, both companies and universities are moving ahead with connectivity with this medium. I would suggest the drivers are: a) Cost b) Increasing ease of use c) Instant access without travel delays d) the need for ( in industry) interconnectivity of design team members living in different countries and e) the increasing everyday use of expertise of young people with this medium.

This doesnt necessarily solve the low touch problem, but it does point to the use of e technology in the Christian arena. The universites solve this at present by highly qualified broadcasts with some "on-site" presence.

Even with face to face availability, many are already requiring Internet Discussion Blogs as an additional means to get students to interact-- as I am doing at present.

Other examples is the use of the Internet connectivity for Regional Cordination of on-site Let's Start Talking mission teams instead of face to face coordination by Regional Representativies -- we have done both. And, you DO lose, but cost and time drive us to this medium.

I would suggest the low touch problem and the problem with accountability will get better as the use of this technology increases throughout the world. And, new techonologies will make it even better.

For example, a local New Zealand station broadcast a 3 -D holographic inactive holographic image with one of its anchors the other day. We haven't seen anything yet ( speaking as one who had an international seminar business training engineers in the next generation of wireles).

Mi ke,
Have you thought about having podCasts available through World Radio. IN places like Japan, Hong Kong, Singapore, etc. the use of pod is becoming endemic to the population. This would seem to be a non-threatening ways for Christians to refer others not Christians to your broadcasts.

As promised, I will update you as much as I can about our tech meeting yesterday. World Radio is exploring how technology and radio can merge into a great tool to reach into the frontier of evangelism and relationship building through information. Information is more readily available than ever and as Paul mentioned in I Cor. 15 the most important information is the gospel! Through a network of 150 speakers we can make them available through a multi-national multi-language ministry using the internet and radio. More to come...
