This is a question from Rebecca Hope, which I moved to this new discussion forum.

There has been a plea in the High Pointe bulletin for 2 weeks looking for volunteers to help organize rides for those who need it on occasion. There has been absolutely no response. Does anyone have any suggestions? Is it acceptable to tell someone who calls for a ride that we are not doing that now? Or perhaps, we are too busy right now...maybe call back in 6 more months?

What is the best way to cope with the lack of response? Or is there another approach that is more effective? It seems burdensome to let this all fall into 1 persons lap...so how do we get many who are willing to share?

Here is Teresa Riley's response to Rebecca's question:

"Maybe it should be a rotation, just like serving communion. We just need someone to be in charge of it. I will ask Dennis King."
I suggest screening the members strengths and gifts for those with service and/or helping and calling some of them directly to see if they would be willing to assist in this area
