I'm also remembering in prayer Courney Berry who is in Chile. Is anyone else from HP there with her?

Well, back to the story of Mr. Satan. As I said before we all have our reasons for not being able to go on a trip. I came home so excited and on fire for God and was ready to return to Peru as soon as possible! But Satan didn´t like that at all. In my story from a couple of days ago, you will recall all the arrows Satan hit me with AFTER my return from Peru. He knew I wanted to go again, so he had to do something drastic to make me not want to leave. Go back and read what all happened to me, if anyone had an excuse for not wanting to leave my home, vehicle and animals again, it was me. It would have been so much easier to say, ¨That´s the last time I´ll go on a trip.¨ Now I´m not saying that so anyone will pat me on the back! On the contrary, I tell you this story so that you will see Satan uses everything he can to keep us from doing God´s will. Satan broke my heart, attacked my posessions and even my animals. Granted it wasn´t on the scale of Job, but it was enough to make me second guess ever going on a mission trip again. Has Satan used something important in your life to keep you from saying yes to a Let´s Start Talking Trip? Stand up to him! Jesus is right there beside you! Tell Satan to jump in the river. Take that bold stand to go on a trip. I´m not telling you its gonna be easy, but it will be worth it! Well that´s all for now. Yes, there is more! That´s just how Satan attacked me after my arrival home from my first trip, wait til I tell you how he used my son todiscourage me from going this year! More next time! Stand strong in your faith and say yes to a Let´s Start Talking Trip! I did and I will!

HI Debra. Glad to know that you guys arrived safely! It sounds like you have met some interesting and wonderful people already. Glad to hear that they have things organized already--that will help make your time productive.

Debra, can you start a new discussion with each of your updates? This will allow me to "share" these updates, and they will be picked up by the RSS feeds in Facebook. Oh, and any pictures that you have can be posted too & be great to see.

You guys are in our prayers!

Hey everyone! We are officially in Cordoba! We had a great flight! Everything went smoothly! We were greeted with open arms and big hug from Nune. She is the lady we are staying with. She has a wonderful home and we are very thankful for the accomodations. Nune speaks about as much English as I do Spanish, but smiles go a long way! We also met a wonderful lady by the name of Kayla. Kayla has ties to Texas in that she lives in Arlington, works in Dallas but is orginally from Argentina. She has a wonderful family story we can tell you more about later. Jacqui, the local missionary, already has everything totally organized for us so we can hit the ground running, or should I say reading, on Tuesday. It is a holiday here on Monday so we won´t have readers that day. Everything has gotten off to a beautifully smooth start just like I knew it would. We are very thankful for the travel prayers everyone sent up for us. The flight into Cordoba was beautiful. The Andes mountain range was very visible and covered in snow. It was awesome. Rebecca and I look forward to keeping everyone informed!

Wow, Debra, I knew some of what happened last year, but not all of it. Satan will indeed do everything that he can to try to kill mission and missional efforts. I really felt those attacks at Liberty when we were reaching out, and I've felt them here. An elder just recently told me, "If Satan knows that this bothers you, he will send it time and time again."

But Christ has defeated Satan. He can mess with us, but he cannot win. Hang in there. You are doing a great thing by going, and God will bless this decision.

You and all the other LST workers are in our prayers!

As I get ready to literally walk out the door, God put something on my heart to share. In our training, they always advise us to be positive about our trips. I can't imagine being anything but positive. I can honestly say nothing bad happened in Peru and I anticipate nothing to go wrong in Argentina. However, there are things or should I say someone, who does their best to discourage me and all of us who have been or are considering going on a mission trip. SATAN
When they asked me to be the LST recruiter, I did not realize just how hard it would be. People that I have spoken to fall into 2 categories: those who don't want to go at all and those who want to go, but for some reason or the other feel they cannot. I am here to tell you from personal experience that while I understand completely the reasons people give for not wanting to go on an LST trip, in the end, you just have decided to do it. Please, please do not take this as a scolding! I know there are difficult things in everyone's lives that make it excrutiatingly hard to leave the country. In fact, the reason I'm writing this is to share some of the ways SATAN attacked my faith and desire to go last year and this year both.

Leading up to last years trip, things were wonderful! I had fallen in love and was talking with my boyfriend of marriage! I had asked one of my former students who loved animals to house sit for me and watch my 7 dogs and 3 goats for $400.00. Our team chemistry was awesome and donations came in freely. Then Satan realized how much I was enjoying life and my new mission adventure and he decided to do something about it. Less than a week into my trip, my boyfriend crushed my dreams and my heart and broke up with me. OK. I got through that even though it was very hard. I was in another country and we couldn't readily talk about his difficulties and decision. I lost a crown off my tooth. No big deal, but try talking to a dentist who doesn't understand English. OK. Those things are no big deal. But upon my return, I found that the girl who was supposed to watch my animals did not. They were malnourished and on 2 occasions my neighbors found them without any water..during July! One dog had licked his leg to the bone from nerves. My friend who apparently fired the girl after my neighbors found my animals the second time, then lived in my house. She trashed my car, smoked in it, stole a CD, stole 3 of my tops and trashed my house. That's just the beginning.

Well that is all I can write for now....just wait until you hear what Satan did this year....before I went. Gotta run now. Headed to battle! I love it!

Rebecca and Debra have been and will be in my prayers. I pray that God will bless them as they glorify Him through their readings and fellowship with the people in Argentina..

Let's remember Rebecca Hope and Debra Arvin in our prayers. They leave tomorrow for an LST trip to Argentina. Rebecca and Debra, can you send back stories and reports and post them here? (Put in a new discussion) I'll then be able to share these back to the church. God bless you on this trip!
