I wanted to share this with you- Susan Balog told me of her story last time she brought a care basket up there: When I took the care basket supplies to the hospital, the room was full of people. I introduced myself and asked about the family member in the hospital. A young man responded saying it was his dad, but that he had just died. His father had recently been diagnosed with cancer but he had been brought in yesterday, he had collapsed. He had bleeding on the brain and I guess had been on life support. The young man said the doctor told him he had probably died yesterday so he was a mix of mourning and anger that his body had been kept alive for a day. I led the conversation back to the positives of his dad's life and that although sudden, a much better way to go than painful cancer. I asked if he would like me to pray with him and he happily agreed. I prayed for comfort for the family and that the family will pull together in a positive way.
Thanks ladies fro volunteering to follow up with these requests!

Leatrice, that is wonderful! With you and Camille, it looks like we have an ICU prayer team forming. Teresa will be in contact with you guys. Thank you!

Please! Let me be a part of this ministry for those families in ICU. I am home most of the time, and can call them, and certainly offer prayers for them. Let me know.

I will be glad to call these ladies this week. I am wondering if the Prayer Warriors Group or the new prayer group Dianne Newhouse is starting could be a good resource to follow up with these requests? Between Celebrate Recovery & Women United in Recovery & working full time I don't want to get overburdened with too many activites. Teresa give e the hone numbers & I will try to call thses ladies on my lunch break!

Sharon, we need a team for the follow-up in praying for and contacting those who have submitted prayer requests from the ICU. If you can call them this week that would be great. Also, what about Leatrice? If we keep posting them here, we could see who is available each week. Any others who can take a more consistent role in this? Thanks!

Teresa, awesome idea to put the prayer requests from ICU here. For those of you who do not know, Sharon Dunlap has set up a refreshment and pray basket for those who are waiting in the ICU room at the McKinney hospital.

This is a not only a prayer group, but it is on an outreach site, so the people in this group are probably even more interested in praying for this group.
